After an 18-month wait, one of the UK’s most emotionally resonant and compelling voices returns. Sam Tompkins’ brand-new single Beauty Queen is out now - a rhythmic, guitar-driven anthem that marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

Already boasting two UK Top 10 albums, over 300 million global streams, more than 3 million social followers, and selling out London’s iconic Hammersmith Apollo as part of three sold-out UK headline tours, Sam has built an extraordinary career defined by vulnerability, connection, and raw honesty. From supporting and performing alongside Justin Bieber to achieving Platinum certification in the US, and Gold in Germany and Italy - his rise has been remarkable.

Now, with “Beauty Queen,” Sam returns with renewed perspective and creative energy.

“It’s inspired by my partner and the way I don’t always feel like I measure up to her,” Sam explains. “There’s a little bit of insecurity in there, but mostly it’s about how grateful I am that I get to spend time with her.” Listen here.

The track signals a fresh sonic direction, shaped in part by a new creative partnership with producer Humble The Great.

Accompanying the release is a cinematic, nostalgia-soaked video that explores friendship, identity and self-rediscovery. The rebuilding of a long-forgotten bicycle becomes a metaphor for reconnecting with the past. Blending humour, warmth and a timeless feel, “Beauty Queen” finds something new in what was once left behind. Watch the video here.

Sam’s journey to this moment has been defined by both persistence and authenticity. From uploading bedroom covers on YouTube to busking on the streets of Brighton, he built his audience from the ground up. “I knew music and singing was my calling, so I forced myself to start going busking,” he recalls. “I was terrified to sing in front of people to begin with, but after a few months, I could have got up and sung in front of absolutely anyone.”

His 2022 EP Who Do You Pray To and 2024 debut album Hi, My Name Is Insecure cemented his status as one of the UK’s most exciting new artists - both landing in the Top 10. These releases followed the breakthrough success of Lose It All, a tender piano ballad that challenged outdated ideas around masculinity and vulnerability, and the global viral hit To The Moon’, an unexpected moment with Jnr Choi that dominated TikTok, and has amassed hundreds of millions of streams.

With ‘Beauty Queen’, Sam Tompkins steps confidently into his next era - one rooted in reflection, growth, and a deeper sense of self.
